My Healthy Morning Routine

February 19, 2017 by Tisha 4 Comments

My Healthy Morning Routine Does anyone else just love to know another person’s healthy morning routine? Cause I certainly do. But I’m nosy like that: I want to know when you wake up, what you eat for breakfast, what the inside of your pantry looks like and where you bought that cute coffee mug. So

3 Brain Myths That Keep You From Reaching Your Full Potential

February 4, 2017 by Tisha 10 Comments

Okay, I’m going to try to keep my cool and not geek out. Cause I get that brain stuff is not the most glamorous of things to talk about in the health sphere. Let’s be honest, most of us want to get fit, have clear, glowing skin and become mermaids (is that last one just

Roasted Carrot, Chickpea + Date Salad {vegan + gf}

January 28, 2017 by Tisha 6 Comments

vegan carrot chickpea salad

I’m an introvert by nature. Some people find that hard to believe, because I never, ever, ever stop talking. But, I am totally someone who, after meeting lots of new people, has to withdraw and recharge. So here I sit, in my pajamas, ready to spend my day quietly writing, and allowing myself to feel more

January 21, 2017 by Tisha 9 Comments

Hello, hello!  I am so excited to share this Chai Spiced Oatmeal recipe with you guys! It’s literally just winter in a bowl. In fact, there’s more winter in this bowl, than there is outside. Seriously, it feels like spring today–all warm, wet and soppy-like. I’m sure it won’t last forever, but I’m definitely embracing it

The Nutritionist Paradox That Keeps You Sick

January 16, 2017 by Tisha 2 Comments

I like to pride myself on the fact that I rarely get sick. Even when I do, my symptoms tend to be mild and usually go away within 24 hours. I’ve gone years without throwing up or calling in sick, and Allie has watched in disbelief when I say I feel ‘slightly nauseous’, only to have her get

Why Mindfulness Needs To Be Your Theme For 2017

January 14, 2017 by Tisha 3 Comments

Mid-January and, I think everyone I know is tired about hearing of New Year’s Resolutions. Except me. Bring it on: I love me a good vision board, life plan and bucket list. I can’t help it–I’m a Capricorn, and we’re planners.  For those that hate the New Year’s Resolutions (you feel that if one more colleague/friend/family

2016: A Year In Review + The End of This Blog?

December 31, 2016 by Tisha Leave a Comment

How is the year almost over?! I mean, sure I say that every year, but it just happens so quickly, you know? One minute I’m complaining about the January weather, and the next minute…Well, I’m complaining about the December weather (because it’s Canada and it’s freakin’ cold, always).  A 2016 Review This year has been interesting: a

3 Ways To Drink Green Smoothies This Winter

December 30, 2016 by Tisha 3 Comments

I have been on a massive Green Smoothie kick this week–which is so unusual for me. In the winter, I’m a strict oatmeal/eggs/something-hot-and-cozy kind of gal, and well, frozen beverages? Not so much my favourite way to start the cold and snowy morning.  Nonetheless, I have just been craving greens, in pureed baby food fashion,

Dairy & hormones—friend or foe? There’s a lo Dairy & hormones—friend or foe?

There’s a lot of mixed info out there, but here’s the truth:

❌ Dairy doesn’t *always* mess with hormones.

✅ Some people are sensitive to it, while others digest it just fine.

✅ Full-fat dairy (like yogurt) has probiotics, calcium & vitamin D—which can actually help PMS!

The key? Listen to your body. If dairy triggers symptoms like bloating or cramps, you might want to try temporarily cutting it out to see how you feel.

But if you’ve been told you need to cut out dairy for your hormone health, just know there’s a lot of benefits to incorporating it into your diet! #hormonehealth #integrativenutrition #periodproblems

Endometriosis affects about 10% of women and people assigned female at birth worldwide, and is one of the most common causes of pelvic pain for women of reproductive age.

While we still need more research in this area, some foods might be helpful in lowering inflammation, getting rid of extra estrogen and avoiding the triggers that make endometriosis symptoms worse.

✨Did you know?✨

There’s a link between IBS and endometriosis: they often co-exist together. If you struggle with symptoms like bloating or stomach pain, it might be worth checking for food intolerances, celiac disease or IBS.
