2018 Yearly Reflection: What Worked, What Didn’t + What’s Next

December 28, 2018 by Tisha Leave a Comment

As I’m writing this, I’m sitting on the couch at my parents place, in my pyjamas. I’ve spent the last week stationed here. On the couch, that is. And honestly, this quiet time has felt quite necessary. And also, kind of boring. When was the last time I just let myself chill? I keep thinking

November 11, 2018 by Tisha Leave a Comment

Good morning lovely humans! I’m currently eating a slice of this heavenly Paleo Plum + Apple Cake, as a I sip on my coffee and plan my day. It is really good. A little bit tart from the plums, with the sweetness of maple syrup. I also just love cake for breakfast. It always feels super indulgent.

How To Get Back On Track With Your Diet

November 4, 2018 by Tisha Leave a Comment

Good morning all! I feel like this morning has been so productive. It hasn’t, whatsoever, but I did wake up an hour earlier than usual thanks to the clocks going back. So it felt like I was productive, because I had an extra hour to sit in pajamas and make paleo pancakes. It’s a hard life,

This weekend has very much been a Stay In PJs Don’t Shower And Try Not To Scare The Uber Eats Delivery Man With My Ogre-Like Appearance kind of weekend. I’m digging it. This is partly because on Friday our office did a pub crawl: alcohol was had and since I’m no longer 18,  the hangover

Is anyone else ready for Daylight Savings to end? Bring on an extra hour of daylight, an extra hour of sleep, an extra hour of me saying I’ll get up to workout as I further wrap myself up in a blanket burrito. It’s this cooler weather, the shortening of days, that has me feeling more

Paleo Chicken Vindaloo

October 23, 2018 by Tisha 2 Comments

Guys: are we officially done with salads? I mean for me, that’s a hard no (is there ever enough salad?!)–but it’s getting cold, so it’s time to start incorporating warm, cozy meals into the rotation. And for me, I like one-pan, easy peasy dinners  that I don’t have to think much about. Soups, stews, casseroles. And

How To Deal With Big Life Changes (Or: Where The F*ck Have I Been?)

October 3, 2018 by Tisha Leave a Comment

Hello lovely humans! It’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted anything. Exactly a month actually. Definitely not my intention–there’s been a few hiccups. For starters, I had to move. And then unpack. And then grumpily stare at boxes hoping they’d unpack themselves while I sip on wine. (They didn’t.) And then my computer broke,

Dairy & hormones—friend or foe? There’s a lo Dairy & hormones—friend or foe?

There’s a lot of mixed info out there, but here’s the truth:

❌ Dairy doesn’t *always* mess with hormones.

✅ Some people are sensitive to it, while others digest it just fine.

✅ Full-fat dairy (like yogurt) has probiotics, calcium & vitamin D—which can actually help PMS!

The key? Listen to your body. If dairy triggers symptoms like bloating or cramps, you might want to try temporarily cutting it out to see how you feel.

But if you’ve been told you need to cut out dairy for your hormone health, just know there’s a lot of benefits to incorporating it into your diet! #hormonehealth #integrativenutrition #periodproblems

Endometriosis affects about 10% of women and people assigned female at birth worldwide, and is one of the most common causes of pelvic pain for women of reproductive age.

While we still need more research in this area, some foods might be helpful in lowering inflammation, getting rid of extra estrogen and avoiding the triggers that make endometriosis symptoms worse.

✨Did you know?✨

There’s a link between IBS and endometriosis: they often co-exist together. If you struggle with symptoms like bloating or stomach pain, it might be worth checking for food intolerances, celiac disease or IBS.
