Spring Radish, Beet + Blueberry Salad

April 1, 2018 by Tisha 2 Comments

It’s officially April. Can I just say, this year is flying by. I mean we’re basically done with winter. Good bye, winter! Adios! You will not be missed! I mean it: I am way too excited for Spring. And there’s oh so many reasons. (Like this Spring Radish, Beet + Blueberry Salad.) For starters, Allie and

Paleo Chocolate Chunk Cookies

March 25, 2018 by Tisha 1 Comment

Keeping it short + sweet this week with these Paleo Chocolate Chunk Cookies. I’d love to say this was my recipe, because they are so freakin’ good, but no, these babies are courtesy of Texanerin Baking. And let me tell you: they taste like the real deal. Buttery, with ooey-gooey dark chocolate, crisp outside and

Energy-Boosting Spirulina + Blueberry Chia Pudding

March 18, 2018 by Tisha 3 Comments

I am obsessed with this Spirulina + Blueberry Chia Pudding. Like obsessed. For one, it’s mermaid coloured–oh, it’s just so freaking pretty. And for two, most importantly, you can not taste the spirulina. But spirulina? It tastes like swamp water. It just does not taste good. And whenever I taste it, my gag reflex gets going, and

Coconut + Cacao Pecan Paleo Granola

March 11, 2018 by Tisha 3 Comments

Happy Sunday! My brain feels like it’s made of fluff today: the remnants of having a social life for once, and drinking one too many Old Fashioneds. Not that I’m complaining: it feels wonderful to get out of the house and connect with friends. But all things (pole) fitness have gone out the window in

Aubergine Chickpea Stew with Apricots + Mint

February 25, 2018 by Tisha Leave a Comment

Oh weekend, where did you go? I always assume I’ll have more lounge time, but then, after running errands, cleaning the house, doing bloggy-type things and going to the gym, it’s suddenly Sunday evening. It’s actually been a lovely weekend. There was a date night with Allie, that included drinks and going to see I,

Green Detox Juice (No Juicer Needed!)

February 19, 2018 by Tisha 4 Comments

Happy Family Day! (a.k.a. pajama + lounge day) I am super excited to share this wicked easy recipe with you. Like super excited. Why, you ask (tentatively)? Because, YOU DON’T NEED A JUICER FOR THIS. Okay, let me take you back down memory lane for a second, alright? Years ago, I bought a juicer. And

Chocolate Chai Banana Bread {paleo} + a chat about LGBT visibility

February 11, 2018 by Tisha 1 Comment

Hello lovely humans! It feels like it’s been a hot minute since we last spoke and there’s a reason for that: pole fitness has temporarily (maybe forever) taken over my life (again). I finally renewed my membership to my local pole gym and now I’m basically too sore to do anything except shallow breathing

Queer of Hearts: gay things that I am loving right now

February 3, 2018 by Tisha Leave a Comment

Okay, we’re trying something new on the blog today–and I’m not going to lie: I’m a little nervous. If you’ve been reading the blog for awhile, or if you know me at all (you have all my sympathy), then you know that I’m gay. Like real gay. And if you’re new here (welcome!), well

Rose, Cardamom + Raspberry Chia Pudding

January 28, 2018 by Tisha 2 Comments

My lazy weekends are not as lazy as I wish they were. Things keep on popping up and filling up my schedule. Sleeping in lasts until 7 am, and suddenly before I know it, it’s Sunday, and late in the afternoon. Anyone else feeling that? For now though, I’m enjoying the quiet: I type away

Tilapia + Kale Piccata {paleo}

January 21, 2018 by Tisha Leave a Comment

This has been such a wonderful weekend. It started Thursday night with belated birthday drinks with some friends. And then a movie night with the girls on Friday involving sappy movies, wine, and all the snack food. Yesterday I met with a friend for coffee (and a matcha latte for myself, as I’m still trying to

Dairy & hormones—friend or foe? There’s a lo Dairy & hormones—friend or foe?

There’s a lot of mixed info out there, but here’s the truth:

❌ Dairy doesn’t *always* mess with hormones.

✅ Some people are sensitive to it, while others digest it just fine.

✅ Full-fat dairy (like yogurt) has probiotics, calcium & vitamin D—which can actually help PMS!

The key? Listen to your body. If dairy triggers symptoms like bloating or cramps, you might want to try temporarily cutting it out to see how you feel.

But if you’ve been told you need to cut out dairy for your hormone health, just know there’s a lot of benefits to incorporating it into your diet! #hormonehealth #integrativenutrition #periodproblems

Endometriosis affects about 10% of women and people assigned female at birth worldwide, and is one of the most common causes of pelvic pain for women of reproductive age.

While we still need more research in this area, some foods might be helpful in lowering inflammation, getting rid of extra estrogen and avoiding the triggers that make endometriosis symptoms worse.

✨Did you know?✨

There’s a link between IBS and endometriosis: they often co-exist together. If you struggle with symptoms like bloating or stomach pain, it might be worth checking for food intolerances, celiac disease or IBS.
