July 23, 2019 by Tisha 1 Comment

It’s been awhile since I’ve last done one of these posts. To be honest, it’s because I don’t really like to switch up my makeup or skincare. When I find something I like, I hold onto it. In fact, you’ll probably a notice a lot of the same favourites today were listed here back in

July 20, 2019 by Tisha Leave a Comment

Summer time heat calls for light salads, bbqs, cold drinks + lighter desserts. Everything needs to be refreshing, cooling and not too heavy. For me, that means going with healthier, paleo desserts to help satisfy my sweet tooth without weighing me down. I want desserts that are fruity, chocolate-y or cold, and I’ve rounded up

How To Workout (When You Don’t Know What You’re Doing)

July 9, 2019 by Tisha 1 Comment

I’ll be the first to admit: I didn’t always like going to gym. It wasn’t because I hated working out–I’m always up for taking a new fitness class or going to yoga or going for a hike. I just didn’t know how to workout. There was something about the gym itself that I found, well,

PB + J Vegan Milkshake

July 1, 2019 by Tisha 1 Comment

Happy July! And happy Canada day! It’s finally summer: I can show off my pasty white skin and listen to the gasps on the street from the people who just think they’ve seen a ghost. Joking aside, it’s nice to finally complain about hot it is and dream about the future that is fall. (Cause

What It Feels Like To Be Bisexual (After Coming Out As Gay)

June 27, 2019 by Tisha Leave a Comment

For as long as I can remember, my sexuality has been fluid. I had my first crush on a boy in kindergarten. And my first kiss with a girl in the second grade. Throughout middle school, and high school, I found myself infatuated with boys and girls, and really unsure of what labels

Why Being 100% Healthy Shouldn’t Be The Goal

May 11, 2019 by Tisha Leave a Comment

As a lover of nutrition, and a firm believer that a good diet and a healthy lifestyle can go extremely far into preventing illness, it might be surprising to you that I don’t think we should aim–or need to be–100% healthy. Don’t get me wrong: I take my health incredibly seriously. I have used good

This quick and easy breakfast is not only nutrient-dense, it also has a beautiful pop of colour! Thanks Vista Magazine for gifting me with the Planet Hemp Super-seeds! Is this really a recipe? Paleo Chocolate Coffee Banana Bread

February 15, 2019 by Tisha 1 Comment

I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to get around to this post! This recipe is so tasty (and sooo gluten-free) and I’ve been pumped to share it. And yet. I think winter has me wanting to hermit inside and drop everything that doesn’t involve being tucked into my blankets like a snug burrito.

Green Antioxidant Smoothie Bowl

January 13, 2019 by Tisha 2 Comments

Today is my birthday! Go ahead: tell me nice things about myself, I’ll wait. (Just kidding, I wait for nothing.) In all seriousness, it feels good to say that I’m now 27. I feel no different than 26, but 27 just sounds like I’m more together. More grownup. More responsible. Of course, none of these things

Why You Should Rethink Weight Loss As A New Year’s Resolution (and what to do instead)

January 1, 2019 by Tisha Leave a Comment

Happy 2019! How does it feel to start another new chapter? Like a blank notebook, a clean slate, the new year has come. Okay–it may have brought its 2018 hangover with it. But all in all, it’s a promise of new things to come, new goals to reach, a new person to become. I know

Dairy & hormones—friend or foe? There’s a lo Dairy & hormones—friend or foe?

There’s a lot of mixed info out there, but here’s the truth:

❌ Dairy doesn’t *always* mess with hormones.

✅ Some people are sensitive to it, while others digest it just fine.

✅ Full-fat dairy (like yogurt) has probiotics, calcium & vitamin D—which can actually help PMS!

The key? Listen to your body. If dairy triggers symptoms like bloating or cramps, you might want to try temporarily cutting it out to see how you feel.

But if you’ve been told you need to cut out dairy for your hormone health, just know there’s a lot of benefits to incorporating it into your diet! #hormonehealth #integrativenutrition #periodproblems

Endometriosis affects about 10% of women and people assigned female at birth worldwide, and is one of the most common causes of pelvic pain for women of reproductive age.

While we still need more research in this area, some foods might be helpful in lowering inflammation, getting rid of extra estrogen and avoiding the triggers that make endometriosis symptoms worse.

✨Did you know?✨

There’s a link between IBS and endometriosis: they often co-exist together. If you struggle with symptoms like bloating or stomach pain, it might be worth checking for food intolerances, celiac disease or IBS.
