Here’s How Stress Can Make You Eat More

June 18, 2021 by Tisha Leave a Comment

I want to tell you a story, and I want you to let me know if you relate to this. I used to work for an agency creating video and photography content around food. The job was good, but often stressful. Sometimes the workload was heavy, sometimes the clients were particular, sometimes things would go

May 9, 2021 by Tisha 3 Comments

Oh baby, have I been waiting to make this post about nutrition myths for awhile now. I don’t know if you know this, but there’s a lot of well, questionable dieting and nutrition advice out there. And I get it: you have a lot of differing opinions, and people with different backgrounds giving this advice.

Why We Need To Stop Focusing On Weight Loss

April 8, 2021 by Tisha 2 Comments

Hello, jello! I know it’s been a hot minute (ahem, a month), so I’m super excited to get this post out, because I’ve been thinking about it for so freaking long. Nutrition and health are seemingly centred around weight loss—and we can largely attribute that to the diet industry. This is so prevalent in our

How Stress Hormones Mess Up Your Gut Health

March 8, 2021 by Tisha 4 Comments

Can we talk about the role that stress plays on gut health? Maybe you’ve never thought about that relationship before—after all, when we think about gut health, we think moreso about what we’re consuming and what it’s digesting. But the truth is, there’s a very strong connection between stress and its impact on healthy gut

Banana Foster Chia Pudding [GF + V]

February 6, 2021 by Tisha Leave a Comment

This recipe has me SO excited! Mostly because it came out of the leftovers that I was trying to use up: an opened can of coconut milk and a very ripe banana. In my attempts to be less wasteful and use up food in the fridge, I had the best idea: caramelized bananas. And alas,

Eat More To Weigh Less?

February 3, 2021 by Tisha 3 Comments

I’m going to tell you something, that I’m sure, on some level you already know: dieting doesn’t work. Diets don’t provide long-term success (meaning any weight you lose, you’ll likely regain—and then some), and 95% of all diets fail. And yet, we’re in this cycle where we always go back to it. Even though we

How Hyperpalatable Foods Control Your Hunger (And What You Can Do About It)

January 24, 2021 by Tisha 3 Comments

I’ve talked a lot about intuitive eating and how to restore your relationship with food. The reason for this is because I know, first hand, that if you don’t have a healthy relationship with food, nothing else matters. It doesn’t matter if you reach your “goal weight”, it doesn’t matter if you’re doing everything “right”.

How To Plan For A Healthy 2021—without deprivation

January 9, 2021 by Tisha Leave a Comment

We are one week into 2021. How’s it feeling? Hopefully, like a much needed fresh start. I know for lots of us, myself included, we’re still in lockdown. It’s been an intense year, and things aren’t going to switch up simply because we’re in a new year. Which is why, this year, I ask you

Dairy & hormones—friend or foe? There’s a lo Dairy & hormones—friend or foe?

There’s a lot of mixed info out there, but here’s the truth:

❌ Dairy doesn’t *always* mess with hormones.

✅ Some people are sensitive to it, while others digest it just fine.

✅ Full-fat dairy (like yogurt) has probiotics, calcium & vitamin D—which can actually help PMS!

The key? Listen to your body. If dairy triggers symptoms like bloating or cramps, you might want to try temporarily cutting it out to see how you feel.

But if you’ve been told you need to cut out dairy for your hormone health, just know there’s a lot of benefits to incorporating it into your diet! #hormonehealth #integrativenutrition #periodproblems

Endometriosis affects about 10% of women and people assigned female at birth worldwide, and is one of the most common causes of pelvic pain for women of reproductive age.

While we still need more research in this area, some foods might be helpful in lowering inflammation, getting rid of extra estrogen and avoiding the triggers that make endometriosis symptoms worse.

✨Did you know?✨

There’s a link between IBS and endometriosis: they often co-exist together. If you struggle with symptoms like bloating or stomach pain, it might be worth checking for food intolerances, celiac disease or IBS.
