Grain-Free Miso Blondies

Grain-Free Miso Blondies| The Nourished Mind

Okay, so I know putting miso in blondies is nothing new. But let me say this: it’s also nothing short of magic.

Seriously: whoever came up with the idea to add miso? Absolutely brilliant. Because it makes these blondies everything you hope: decadent, sweet, salty. They. Are. So. Freaking. Good.

Naturally, I had to add my own twist to these bad boys. So here is a totally grain-free Miso Blondies recipe.

How To Make Grain-Free Miso Blondies

What I love about this recipe is how quickly it comes together.

First you mix all of your wet ingredients: miso, eggs, coconut sugar, cashew butter, melted butter and vanilla. Then stir in your dry: almond flour, coconut flour, baking soda, salt. Once combined, stir in your white chocolate.

Pour the batter into a prepared 8×8 baking pan, bake at 350F for 35-40 minutes. Cool and sprinkle with Maldon salt!

Substitutions

Cashew Butter: You can swap out the cashew butter for any nut butter you have on hand!

Coconut Sugar: You could swap out the coconut sugar for maple syrup, but you’ll end up with a more wet, sweeter, batter, so you may have to bake it longer. I haven’t tried it, but I would try using 3/4 cup maple syrup instead of the whole cup.

Butter: you can swap out 1:1 butter for coconut oil if you’re looking to make it dairy-free. You’ll probably end up with a more crisp product!

Also, did you hear about my 6-week program launching in January? The Nourished Body Reset is a completely online program that’s going to teach you how to regulate your hunger, create a healthy relationship with food and finally ditch dieting.

If you’re new here, maybe you don’t know, but I struggled with disordered eating for years. I struggled with bulimia, with restrictive eating, and I denied myself any pleasure around food. As I healed and recovered, there were two big things that changed my relationship to food:

  • I learned that certain foods caused me to binge, by dysregulating hunger.  I never felt full, I was an insatiable pit
  • I learned I had to give myself permission to eat food again, without judgement, without restriction

These two learnings changed my relationship to food. I’m no longer a dieter, I no longer spend hours thinking about what I’m going to eat or not eat. I no longer am chasing numbers on the scale, that don’t really mean anything.

And that’s what I want for you. I want you to have that freedom.

If this is something that resonates with you, and you’re feeling a lot of “aha! that sounds like me now!” then I highly recommend you join now. In fact, if you sign up now, before my course goes live in January 2021, you’ll become a Founding Member and save 50% off the course. This is the most affordable the course will ever be. You can join by clicking here.

So I hope you’ll come join me. I can’t wait to go on this journey with you!

With love,

Dairy & hormones—friend or foe? There’s a lo Dairy & hormones—friend or foe?

There’s a lot of mixed info out there, but here’s the truth:

❌ Dairy doesn’t *always* mess with hormones.

✅ Some people are sensitive to it, while others digest it just fine.

✅ Full-fat dairy (like yogurt) has probiotics, calcium & vitamin D—which can actually help PMS!

The key? Listen to your body. If dairy triggers symptoms like bloating or cramps, you might want to try temporarily cutting it out to see how you feel.

But if you’ve been told you need to cut out dairy for your hormone health, just know there’s a lot of benefits to incorporating it into your diet! #hormonehealth #integrativenutrition #periodproblems

Endometriosis affects about 10% of women and people assigned female at birth worldwide, and is one of the most common causes of pelvic pain for women of reproductive age.

While we still need more research in this area, some foods might be helpful in lowering inflammation, getting rid of extra estrogen and avoiding the triggers that make endometriosis symptoms worse.

✨Did you know?✨

There’s a link between IBS and endometriosis: they often co-exist together. If you struggle with symptoms like bloating or stomach pain, it might be worth checking for food intolerances, celiac disease or IBS.
