January 24, 2020 by Tisha 3 Comments

I’m going to let you in on a secret: I have always struggled with anxiety. I got my first anxiety attack in high school, and honestly I thought I was dying: I was at the movie theatre with a friend, and had to leave mid-movie, and then my parents took me to the ER. Unfortunately,

My 28th Birthday + 7 Lessons I’ve Learned

January 12, 2020 by Tisha Leave a Comment

Today is my 28th birthday. Which seems crazy. It feels both old, and incredibly young. I’m one of the youngest in my friends group, so it always feels like I’m playing catch up. I’m the baby. And yet, I remember dreaming of being 25: surely by then I’d have my life together. I’d have it

How To Simplify Your Life (+ live with intention)

January 2, 2020 by Tisha Leave a Comment

How to simplify your life..it sounds dreamy (it sounds impossible). It’s 2020. A new decade. Which is bananas. Even more bananas is the fact that I’m quickly coming to the end of my 20s. And honestly? It feels good. I’ll write a little bit more about this in a couple weeks when I hit my

2020 Goals + Yearly Reflection

December 13, 2019 by Tisha Leave a Comment

Mid December. I can’t believe it. I say this every year. I mean it every year: how does time fly?! Usually around this time of year, I start to get really reflective and mull over what I accomplished, what I learned, where I fell short and what’s next. It’s a habit I’ve kept for

Za’atar Bacon Brussels Sprouts with Pomegranate

December 11, 2019 by Tisha 5 Comments

The holidays are right around the corner, and naturally, I’m a step behind. While thankfully I have most of my gift shopping done, this was not a year for festive holiday decor–there just hasn’t been any time! I did, however, squeeze in a couple holiday movies–and made my way to go see Frozen 2

Learning To Take Up Space

December 9, 2019 by Tisha Leave a Comment

This wasn’t a post I planned to write. In fact, it’s not even something I’ve really known how to talk about–let alone share here. But it keeps calling me. So here, I’ll speak. In these last few years, I’ve really struggled with finding my voice. With being assertive, with taking up space. It’s been a

Why Being Thin Didn’t Help Me Love My Body

December 3, 2019 by Tisha 1 Comment

Why Being Thin Isn’t Everything If you’ve been following my story, you probably already know that I struggled with disordered eating. My issues with my weight started young: I remember being in the fifth grade doing 100 crunches before bed. This was a routine I kept until my first year of university. 100 crunches, every

Beet + Dill Lentils

November 29, 2019 by Tisha 13 Comments

Hello, hello! I’m reposting this article from 2017, because I loved the recipe so much. Guys, it’s so good. I decided to revamp the photos–the other ones were really, really bad. (Which is fair–I was so new to photography then, and we all have to start somewhere!) I actually really want to write a post on

Dairy & hormones—friend or foe? There’s a lo Dairy & hormones—friend or foe?

There’s a lot of mixed info out there, but here’s the truth:

❌ Dairy doesn’t *always* mess with hormones.

✅ Some people are sensitive to it, while others digest it just fine.

✅ Full-fat dairy (like yogurt) has probiotics, calcium & vitamin D—which can actually help PMS!

The key? Listen to your body. If dairy triggers symptoms like bloating or cramps, you might want to try temporarily cutting it out to see how you feel.

But if you’ve been told you need to cut out dairy for your hormone health, just know there’s a lot of benefits to incorporating it into your diet! #hormonehealth #integrativenutrition #periodproblems

Endometriosis affects about 10% of women and people assigned female at birth worldwide, and is one of the most common causes of pelvic pain for women of reproductive age.

While we still need more research in this area, some foods might be helpful in lowering inflammation, getting rid of extra estrogen and avoiding the triggers that make endometriosis symptoms worse.

✨Did you know?✨

There’s a link between IBS and endometriosis: they often co-exist together. If you struggle with symptoms like bloating or stomach pain, it might be worth checking for food intolerances, celiac disease or IBS.
