Queer Wellness Unpacked Ep. 1 | Nourished With Tish

So I have some pretty exciting news!

I decided to create a podcast. Honestly, this has been something I’ve been thinking about for a while now, so I’m really excited to finally share Queer Wellness Unpacked.

This podcast will be a deep dive into all the topics I hold dear to me: diet culture, weight stigma, sexuality, hormones, reproductive health and social justice issues…Just to name a few. I wanted to create a space to talk about the health issues that I think as a society we tend to shy away from.

I might be a nutritionist. But I’m also a bisexual woman. And, believe it or not, that absolutely influences my relationship with health and my body.

For example, hormone health discussions tend to cater to cis women (women’s health often doesn’t feel super inclusive of trans and non-binary people, who may also struggle with period health or hormonal imbalances).

Reproductive and sexual health usually centres on heterosexual relationships.

Diet culture (and the beauty standards that come with it) upholds sexist and racist ideology that perpetuates weight stigma.

I wanted there to be something else. Something that felt inclusive. And realistic. Health without the diet culture BS that makes my nose crinkle in annoyance.

And so, Queer Wellness Unpacked was born.

You can check out my first episode below!
