IT’S JUNE. As in summer. As in cocktails on the patio all day, every day. (Kind of kidding–I’m a little tipsy now from, ahem, taste testing.)
It’s also PRIDE month! And I am freakin’ pumped. I actually love being queer, and I’ll find a way to drop it into conversation every chance that I get. “Oh, you’re going to see your grandma? My grandma just met my lesbian lover recently.” “Filing your taxes, huh? I wonder if I get a tax break for being queer and awesome.” (The answer is no.)
Basically I annoy everyone all the time with my I’m-gay-by-the-way status updates. But this time of year? They have to pretend like they love it 😉
Speaking of queer: Allie and I are going to see Hayley Kiyoko, who I am legit obsessed with. Obsessed. She’s this queer musician, who is crazy talented, and was once upon a time a disney starlet. That’s like everything I look for in a celebrity crush, ever.
Right, so about these cocktails. These Bluberry Mint Gin Fizz(ies…how do you pluralize fizz?!) are sweet and refreshing. Like me… Seriously, these drinks have gone straight to my head.
Anyway, this is perfect summer sipping. I even doubled the recipe so Allie could be equally tipsy at 11am. I’m obviously already in vacation mode, even though there’s still another week before Barcelona.
So I’m going to leave you with this recipe and this message: you are f*cking awesome. Yes, you. Whatever you’re struggling with, you’ll pull through. Even if it means crying it out to get there (I feel yah). Things will get better. And for all my queer/gay/homo friends: you’re the best. THE BEST.

Happy pride month!
