LIFE UPDATE: when did I last shower?

November 24, 2015 by Tisha Leave a Comment

Can we talk about how cute our new bedroom is? #movingonup #toronto

Hello, hello!

Before I start, let me just say: it’s past my bedtime. (Like 3 days past). I’m exhausted. I’m cranky. I’m crying a lot.

You know what that means.

WE’RE MOVING!

Despite my under eye bags and lack of showers because, uh, hello, who has the time? (Did I mention dry shampoo is my all-time bestie, and I am not shy to apply, my friends)…Anyway, despite all this I am ecstatic. I am so unbelievably happy. If you read the blog often (hi mom and Mr.Rick!) then you probably already know: September was a big mess for us.

Big, big mess. The apartment we lined up for life in Toronto had bed bugs so we didn’t move in, and thus, we were homeless, we were unemployed, my student loans didn’t come in, and Poe got meaner. Actually, almost every day, like clockwork, Allie and I got more and more bad news. At first we cried–a lot. And then our hearts simply turned to stone, and here we are.

Thankfully, after forcing everyone I know (thanks mom & Mr. Rick!) to think positive thoughts, our luck turned around. I got a job working as a line cook for Impact Kitchen, Allie got an awesome job in her field (which to respect her privacy, I’m not going to disclose here) and we found a brand new home to take our part-demon (don’t worry, I still love her) cat.

This means that for the last few weeks, our days have typically started around 4 or 5am and ended around midnight. I wish I was kidding. Sleep deprivation and I are so close these days, we might as well be sleeping to—uh, never mind.

So this post is just to say that for the next week, I will not be posting, because I will be moving (and unpacking, and crying and still not sleeping). But after that, I will resume to being as normal a human being as I can personally attain to.

I am so happy. I am so grateful.

Thank you to everyone who gave out the much needed support! It means the world. I hope all is well with you guys, and that your week is as dreamy as I wish I was.

Dairy & hormones—friend or foe? There’s a lo Dairy & hormones—friend or foe?

There’s a lot of mixed info out there, but here’s the truth:

❌ Dairy doesn’t *always* mess with hormones.

✅ Some people are sensitive to it, while others digest it just fine.

✅ Full-fat dairy (like yogurt) has probiotics, calcium & vitamin D—which can actually help PMS!

The key? Listen to your body. If dairy triggers symptoms like bloating or cramps, you might want to try temporarily cutting it out to see how you feel.

But if you’ve been told you need to cut out dairy for your hormone health, just know there’s a lot of benefits to incorporating it into your diet! #hormonehealth #integrativenutrition #periodproblems
✨ Can diet help with endometriosis? ✨ Endomet ✨ Can diet help with endometriosis? ✨

Endometriosis affects about 10% of women and people assigned female at birth worldwide, and is one of the most common causes of pelvic pain for women of reproductive age.

While we still need more research in this area, some foods might be helpful in lowering inflammation, getting rid of extra estrogen and avoiding the triggers that make endometriosis symptoms worse.

✨Did you know?✨

There’s a link between IBS and endometriosis: they often co-exist together. If you struggle with symptoms like bloating or stomach pain, it might be worth checking for food intolerances, celiac disease or IBS.
