4-Ingredient Tropical Green Smoothie

4-Ingredients Tropical Green Smoothie | The Nourished Mind

It feels like it’s been awhile since I’ve shared a recipe on the blog! It’s not intentional, I promise. It’s just that I moved at the beginning of June, so between packing up, moving and unpacking, making recipes (and taking photos) has had to take a bit of a back seat.

But not anymore! I just received my new oven yesterday. (If you weren’t following along, when I first moved in, I realized my oven did not in fact work, and the previous tenant just never bothered to say anything.) So now we’re back in business. Woo!

Of course, now the weather is insanely hot—and I don’t have air conditioning—so while I have a working oven, I’m not exactly in a rush to use it (go figure). So I figured I’d start back with a real simple and refreshing recipe: this Tropical Green Smoothie! Pineapple and banana make a perfect pair in this hydrating, vibrant smoothie.

This Tropical Green Smoothie is only 4 ingredients and so easy to make! You can top it with healthy favourites if you want (like coconut chips and chia seeds, or fresh fruit) or enjoy as is!

HOW TO MAKE IT

Just blend it! Nice and easy!

Helpful tip: make freezable bags at the beginning of the week with sliced banana, frozen pineapple and spinach. Then just blend with liquid in the morning and you’re good to go!

KEY INGREDIENTS

Spinach (or any leafy greens!)

Almond Milk

Frozen Pineapple

Fresh Banana

SUBSTITUTES

While I do love smoothies for breakfast, I’ve also been eating this a lot at night, as a dessert! It’s been so hot here, so this is like a healthy take on frozen yogurt. You can make it thicker by adding frozen banana instead of fresh, and adding less almond milk! Then you can eat it with a spoon!

You can also swap out the almond milk for coconut water if you want it to feel extra tropical. Or water if you don’t have either!

You can also add in collagen or a protein powder and 1/2 an avocado if you want this breakfast smoothie to tide you over and keep you feeling full!

Dairy & hormones—friend or foe? There’s a lo Dairy & hormones—friend or foe?

There’s a lot of mixed info out there, but here’s the truth:

❌ Dairy doesn’t *always* mess with hormones.

✅ Some people are sensitive to it, while others digest it just fine.

✅ Full-fat dairy (like yogurt) has probiotics, calcium & vitamin D—which can actually help PMS!

The key? Listen to your body. If dairy triggers symptoms like bloating or cramps, you might want to try temporarily cutting it out to see how you feel.

But if you’ve been told you need to cut out dairy for your hormone health, just know there’s a lot of benefits to incorporating it into your diet! #hormonehealth #integrativenutrition #periodproblems
✨ Can diet help with endometriosis? ✨ Endomet ✨ Can diet help with endometriosis? ✨

Endometriosis affects about 10% of women and people assigned female at birth worldwide, and is one of the most common causes of pelvic pain for women of reproductive age.

While we still need more research in this area, some foods might be helpful in lowering inflammation, getting rid of extra estrogen and avoiding the triggers that make endometriosis symptoms worse.

✨Did you know?✨

There’s a link between IBS and endometriosis: they often co-exist together. If you struggle with symptoms like bloating or stomach pain, it might be worth checking for food intolerances, celiac disease or IBS.
