20 Healthy Cookbooks That Will Make You Glow | The Nourished Mind

I’m going to let you in on a secret: I’m addicted  to cookbooks. I’m always hunting for a new one to add to my collection. I read through them at night the way people read a good fiction novel before bed. For me, food is so pleasurable.

But I know a lot of people who think that healthy cooking is, well, kind of boring. (Isn’t it just salads and smoothies?!) Sometimes when I tell people that I’m gluten-free, often dairy-free, and fluctuate between a plant-based and paleo diet, they think “what the hell do you eat?!”.

A lot. Promise.

So today I thought I’d share some beautiful healthy cookbooks to inspire you to get into the kitchen and make something delicious + nourishing! A lot of these books I have stacked up on my bookshelf, while others are on preorder (set to come out in March or April of this year!). But all of them are written by people that I’m inspired by, whose recipes I trust, and whose food photography I’m blown away by (because aren’t pretty pictures the whole point of a cookbook?!).

You’ll find a variety of healthy cookbooks below: paleo, plant-based, Korean, Mediterranean, fermented foods, grain-free baking–I’ve got you covered. Most of them are gluten-free (although some include grains that can be swapped out for GF ones), and are free of refined sugar and vegetable oils. Cause that’s how I roll. All of them are beautiful, and all of them focus on eating as a way of self-care, not deprivation.

There’s a lot of mixed info out there, but here’s the truth:

❌ Dairy doesn’t *always* mess with hormones.

✅ Some people are sensitive to it, while others digest it just fine.

✅ Full-fat dairy (like yogurt) has probiotics, calcium & vitamin D—which can actually help PMS!

The key? Listen to your body. If dairy triggers symptoms like bloating or cramps, you might want to try temporarily cutting it out to see how you feel.

But if you’ve been told you need to cut out dairy for your hormone health, just know there’s a lot of benefits to incorporating it into your diet! #hormonehealth #integrativenutrition #periodproblems
